I am trying to trace my husbands French ancestors.  His great-grandmother was Barbe Amelie de la Volpeliere, born in Mauritius and married to Captain Douglas Wales.  Her father was Henri de la Volpeliere, I think originally from Marseilles and her aunt was Julie Volpeliere an artist of note of the school of David.  Henri, it seems was for a time the court advocate in Paris.  Any information, anyone?
